April Newsletter – Death and Taxes

April 2019

Dear Friend,

Our new nation’s Constitution was established with all the promise of permanency but Ben Franklin remarked, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” This month of Easter and 1040’s reminds us of both.

The passing of my father on March 15 reminded me of the greatest death benefit anyone could have, eternal life. The Apostle Paul wrote, “thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” That’s the blessing of Easter, my friend.

Spring is a beautiful season to rejoice in all things good. Here at PFP we could not accomplish the good without the support of people like you. Would you consider adding a monthly legacy gift as part of your support? Together, WE change lives!

This is a great time of the year to get back outside and enjoy the golf course as well. I’m looking forward to your invitation! Did you receive my invitation for our 3rd Annual Golf Classic for children at the Frederick Douglass Christian School? It’s a great time and a great opportunity for sponsors to invest in our students in Chester, PA.

For 30 years I’ve shared the vision of breaking the cycle of poverty and creating self-sustaining lives for our residents. From the beginning, the foundation or our work has been educational programs. The single greatest funding resource in recent years has been the Scholarship Tax Credits (EITC/OSTC). Even if you already participate on your own, the amount may be easily divided to include Frederick Douglass Chrisitian School. You may visit our partners, Central PA Scholarship Fund for more information.

Planning ahead with a Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple way to offset capital gains, secure a gift for the future and keep a little more hard earned money in your pocket for now.
