Together, WE Change Lives!

LYFT awards 3 Phila. grants…

LYFT awards 3 Philadelphia non-profits with grants… and we are one of them!

Philadelphia, PA (October 29, 2019) – Lyft, whose mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation, announced the first group of quarterly recipients of its local grants program in Philadelphia. Developed in 2018, this initiative identifies and connects with some of Philadelphia’s hardest working organizations “by providing access to reliable and affordable transportation through our grant initiative.” Lyft is thrilled to announce the following organizations have been awarded to help valuable causes within the city: Students Care, Repair the World and People for People.

Dedicated to bringing life-changing assistance to Philadelphians, PFP is helping people construct new futures for themselves and their families by breaking the generational cycle of poverty in the lives of economically-challenged residents by providing positive alternatives to drugs, crime and welfare dependency. Through the Lyft grant, PFP will be able to support its Project DAD initiative, which helps non-custodial fathers and families in the city to be responsible parents by providing programming that improve participants’ relations with their children, through intensive employment services and case management.

The People for People, Inc. and Project D.A.D. program is excited to be a recipient of this Lyft grant, said Kirk Berry, Director. Our fatherhood program will use this service as an opportunity to assist fathers with getting to their new full time jobs. This will be offered after their successful completion of our program.
